It’s college football Week 1, and the Heisman odds are already undergoing a facelift.

While Texas quarterback Arch Manning opened the season with the shortest odds to take home the sport’s highest honor, five other quarterbacks have eclipsed him after a shaky start to his career as a full-time starter.

Entering Saturday, Manning was atop the board at +650.

However, Manning finished Saturday’s loss at OSU going 17-of-30 passing for 170 yards, one touchdown and one interception. With that, he quickly dropped to +1500.

He’s now tied for seventh on the board at +1600 with Oklahoma’s John Mateer.

Sitting alone at the top is LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier.

The Tigers’ quarterback took over the top spot after completing 28-of-38 passes for 230 yards and a touchdown in LSU’s 17–10 win over Clemson.

Cade Klubnik, who shared the lead with Nussmeier at +700 entering the matchup, dropped to fourth after finishing 19-of-38 for 230 yards and an interception. He’s now +1400.

South Carolina’s LaNorris Sellers climbed to the second spot after throwing for 209 yards and a touchdown in the Gamecocks’ 24–11 win over Virginia Tech.

Miami’s Carson Beck rounds out the top three after going 20-for-30 for 205 yards and two touchdowns in the Hurricanes’ 27-24 win over Notre Dame.

Of the top eight players on the oddsboard, seven of them are quarterbacks. Over the last 12 years, nine of the winners have been QBs.

Last year’s winner, Travis Hunter, became the first two-way player since 1997 to win. The last was Charles Woodson.
