Rotary’s Empty Bowls event a success

Rehoboth Beach Sunrise Rotary hosted its Empty Bowls fundraiser event April 21 at the Love Creek Elementary School outside Lewes.

Participants were given a cup of soup and a piece of bread donated by SoDel Concepts restaurants to help visualize the impact of food insecurity. They were able to choose a bowl to take home as a reminder of those bowls left empty by hunger. All donations and proceeds will go to help local organizations fight hunger.

Also present were representatives from Miriam’s Table, which has a mission is to feed children living in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Marine Education Research and Rehabilitation Institute.
