A closing reception and awards ceremony for the annual Georgetown student art show took place March 26 at Georgetown Public Library.
Georgetown Arts & Flowers sponsored the show, and more than 86 pictures were entered by students in kindergarten through eighth grade from Sussex Academy, North Georgetown Elementary, Georgetown Elementary and Georgetown Middle schools.
In attendance for the ceremony were Mayor Bill West, town officials, teachers, parents, students, friends and members of Georgetown Arts & Flowers.
Works were judged by three local artists for first-, second- and third-place prizes along with 10 honorable mention awards.
First-place awards per category went to: K-2, Molly Schaefer from Sussex Academy; 3-5, David Zuniga from Georgetown Elementary; and 6-8, Gracelyn Spanos from Sussex Academy.
Second-place awards went to: K-2, Angely Mendez-Reyes from North Georgetown; 3-5, Ava Gaudioso from Georgetown Elementary; and 6-8, Kaylee Garcia Velasquez from Georgetown Middle.
Third-place awards went to: K-2, Presley Lowe from Sussex Academy; 3-5, William Sandoval from Georgetown Elementary; and 6-8, Avery Mears from Georgetown Middle.
