Bayhealth appoints Kevin Baird as new board chair

Bayhealth recently announced the appointment of Kevin M. Baird, Esq., as the new chair of the Bayhealth board of directors. A seasoned attorney and dedicated community leader, Baird brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for service to this pivotal role, guiding Bayhealth in its mission to deliver exceptional healthcare to the region.

Baird joined the Bayhealth board in January 2022, quickly taking on significant leadership roles as chair of the Bayhealth Inc. Board Governance Committee and member of the compensation and real estate committees. On January 30, 2023, Baird was elected vice chair Jan. 30, 2023, and joined the Bayhealth Inc. Board Executive Committee. He currently chairs the executive and compensation committees, and serves as a member of the business and investment, performance improvement, planning, governance and real estate committees. Baird was elected chair at the annual meeting held Feb. 3, reflecting his deep commitment to Bayhealth’s strategic vision.

Baird, a partner at The Baird Firm LLC, specializes in estate planning and business law, serving a diverse clientele ranging from young families to entrepreneurs with substantial wealth. He began his legal career began in Delaware after graduating with honors from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2002, followed by a clerkship with Delaware Superior Court. Baird honed his skills at some of the nation’s largest law firms in Wilmington before relocating to Dover in 2007 to focus on a more localized practice. With degrees in engineering – a BS from the University of Buffalo and an MS from Virginia Tech – Baird combines analytical rigor with legal acumen, enabling him to address complex challenges with creative solutions.

Bayhealth extends heartfelt gratitude to Gregg Moore, who is stepping down as board chair after an impactful tenure. Moore joined the Bayhealth board in March 2015 and was elected chair Jan. 31, 2022. During his time as chair, Moore provided steady leadership, guiding Bayhealth through significant growth and challenges with a focus on community health and operational excellence. He will continue to serve as a board member, remaining active on the compensation, planning, business and investment, and real estate committees.
