‘La Cage Aux Folles’ auditions set June 7, 9

Possum Point Players will hold auditions for “La Cage Aux Folles” at 12 p.m., Saturday, June 7, and 6 p.m., Monday, June 9, in the theater at Possum Hall, 441 Old Laurel Road, Georgetown.

Show dates are Friday to Sunday, Sept. 26 to 28, and Oct. 3 to 5. The cast must be available for all show dates listed.

Leading auditions will be Kenney Workman, director, and creative team members Diane Trautman, musical director; Bliss Soucek, choreographer; Donna de Kuyper, character coach; and Scott Beadle, creative consultant.

Those auditioning should bring a short prepared vocal selection with either sheet music for the accompanist or recorded accompaniment (without vocals). The audition will also include some basic stage movement and readings from the script.

To be cast in a PPP production, actors may be expected to alter their appearance by cutting, growing or dyeing their hair (including facial hair), as well as covering tattoos and piercings, to authentically represent a character and the time period in which the show takes place.
