Dewey officials urge folks to clean up after their pets

While Dewey Beach loves its dogs, the town is having an issue with people not cleaning up after their four-legged friends on the beach.

To help ensure the beach remains clean for all, town officials are asking folks to use the free doggie bags supplied at every street and dune crossing. The bags are paid for by Dewey Beach dog licenses.

The town has also implemented a Dewey Dog mascot campaign to encourage people to clean up after their pets. Signs with the mascot are posted at each dune crossing near the town trash cans.
