Thieves steal $50,000 in jewelry from Lewes store

, , Lewes police are searching for three people who they say stole about $50,000 worth of jewelry June 15 from a local store.  Police said the merchandise taken from the unnamed store was mostly bracelets. Anyone with information is asked to call Cpl. Yatsko at 302-645-6264.

Traffic backed up along southbound Route 1 June 19, as emergency responders cleared the scene of a flipped vehicle at the entrance to Home Depot.  The incident occurred about 11 a.m. involving at least two vehicles. Motorcyclist involved in Route 1 crash near Lewes

A crash closed the northbound lanes of Route 1 during the morning commute June 19, in the area of Nassau Road north of Lewes. The incident occurred about 7:51 a.m. at the crossover just north of the Nassau Bridge. The crash reportedly involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck.  More information will be added if released.

Car fire causes delays on Route 1

A car fire on northbound Route 1 caused traffic delays June 18.  The incident occurred about 3:52 p.m. near the bridge over the Broadkill River, south of the intersection of Route 16.  The vehicle was fully involved when firefighters arrived at the scene. Traffic was restricted for nearly 45 minutes while firefighters handled the situation.
