Furman has won lots of game for Bob Richey and are apparently on the ascent…just in time for next month’s SoCon Tourney. Furman has been doing it lately without key cogs Asa Thomas and Cooper Bowser, but the new star of the SoCon is Richey’s frosh G Alex Wilkins (18 ppg), who has picked up the pace minus his supporting actors and is making a run at SoCon MVP honors, scoring at a 22 ppg pace the five games. The Paladins are also 14-4 since the week before Thanksgiving. Meanwhile the Movin’ Mocs aren’t movin’ too well lately, losing three straight as the offense stalls (just 62 ppg that span), and G Jordan Frison (14.9 ppg) still the only double-digit scorer.
