Georgetown Police notify public of ICE operation

Georgetown Police Department was notified Feb. 4, of an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement fugitive apprehension operation within town limits. 

According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, Georgetown Police was not involved in the operation and did not receive any requests for assistance from ICE. 

“Due to the nature of the operation, we are unable to provide specific details related to this federal investigation,” the post reads. “However, we want to emphasize that the safety and security of our residents and visitors remain our top priority.”
