The Historic Lewes Farmers Market will ring in its 20th season at 8 a.m., Saturday, May 3, at George H.P. Smith Park.

In case of inclement weather, the market moves to the Lewes Elementary School parking lot, 820 Savannah Road.

The market’s 36 local farmers/producers will be bringing fresh vegetables, fruit, cold-pressed juices, kombucha, coffee, beef, pork, chicken, lamb, seafood, mushrooms, breads and pastries, jams, honey, plants and cut flowers.

The Heirloom restaurant team will be in the demo tent at 10 a.m., highlighting fresh, in-season offerings found around the market. Heirloom owner Meghan Lee has worked with local small farmers for years to bring the best seasonal ingredients to her patrons.

New vendor offerings will include eggs from Anya’s Homestead, where first-generation farmer Anya Phillips raises chickens and grows a vibrant mix of heirloom varieties of herbs, fruits and vegetables. Caribe Locavore Farm boasts a wide variety of culturally significant crops grown using regenerative practices. From callaloo and okra to peppers, tomatoes and herbs, farmer Taieshia Hyacinth’s harvests reflect a deep connection to American, Caribbean, African and Latin culinary traditions. Steven Raleigh of Story Hill Farm will bring heritage pork, grass-fed beef, farm eggs and signature Henlopen Sea Salt – harvested on the farm using Atlantic seawater – to market each Saturday.

Customers can continue to find delicious, fresh, cold-pressed juices from The Juice Club, formerly Jun & Juice. Wednesday summer market vendors joining the Saturday lineup this year include Cosmic Dog Farm with its nutrient-dense vegetable offerings and Dream Catcher Homestead offering pasture-raised meats and farm eggs.

The Historic Lewes Farmers Market is producer-only, so customers are able to buy directly from the farmers who grew the produce.

Patrons should note that dogs and other pets (except for service animals) are not permitted inside the market area, in order to ensure the safety of customers, vendors and volunteers.

Organizers encourage customers who are able to bike or walk to the market. The circle in front of the Fred Thomas Building at the foot of Dupont Avenue will be open for accessible drop-off and pickup, with some spots available for handicap accessible parking only.

Now that new sidewalks have been added alongside George H.P. Smith Park, the best place customers can park is at the main Lewes Elementary lot, with just a short walk down a path to the park. Beebe Healthcare also allows market customers to park in its outside lot.

For a list of all vendors, their contact information and whether they take preorders, go to historiclewesfarmersmarket.org. Customers will pick up preorders at the vendor tent in the market.

The market processes payments from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, and Women, Infants and Children Program benefits, and continues to match SNAP up to $20 per market, per customer. Customers may go to the SNAP tent to process SNAP/EBT.

The HLFM continues its food pantry purchase program. Market customers who want to help feed the local community may purchase local produce, meats, milk and other food from growers at the market to donate to this program every Saturday. At the end of the market, the produce and other foods are gathered and given to local food pantries.

The HLFM Wednesday market will open at 8 a.m., June 4, at Crooked Hammock.

The market thanks The Lee Ann Wilkinson Group, 2025 HLFM Market Champion, for its continued support.
