Lewes Police Department arrested a 42-year-old Lewes man Feb. 19 alleging that he was running a methamphetamine lab out of a home on Beebe Avenue.
According to Lewes police, a search warrant was executed for the home of Zachary Olon as the result of a long-running investigation. Police said within the house they found chemical compounds, ingredients, tools and devices consistent with an attempt to make methamphetamine. Also within the house were methamphetamine itself, drug paraphernalia, a Ruger 9mm pistol, ammunition and several unknown substances that police said will require further testing.
Olon was charged with knowingly operating an unlawful clandestine laboratory, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a controlled substance, all felony charges, as well as a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
