Canellakis-Brown Duo to cap Coastal Concerts season April 6

Coastal Concerts will present the Canellakis-Brown Duo at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 6, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes.

Cellist Nicholas Canellakis and pianist-composer Michael Stephen Brown have been captivating audiences with performances that combine masterpieces from the standard repertoire with original compositions and arrangements. The musicians bring their affectionate, infectious rapport to the stage, presenting programs celebrating the standard literature, little-known gems, and original works and arrangements.

Among the works in the program for this final concert of Coastal Concerts’ 25th anniversary season will be the premiere of a piece composed for the occasion by Brown and performed by the duo.

When not performing, they often engage in heated games of Scrabble, testing the limits of their friendship but always bringing them back together stronger.
